Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cup of almond flour
  • 5 Tbsp of psyllium husk powder
  • 3 egg whites 
  • 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar 
  • 1 Tbsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp of sea salt
  • 1 tsp of chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 tsp of sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 cup of boiling water 

Instructions

Preparing The Buns

Preheat the oven to 180°C

Mix the dry ingredients (almond flour, psyllium husk, baking powder and salt) with a whisk. Pour the wet ingredients ( egg whites, apple vinegar) into the dry ingredients and mix with a silicone spatula.

Slowly pour in the boiling water and continue mixing. The dough will be quite thick and expand as it absorbs the water.

Divide the dough into 5 parts and form 5 balls with your hands. You can wet your hands with water or oil to prevent the dough sticking to you.

Place the balls over a baking sheet on a baking tray then flatten them.

Using a brush, wet the buns with water.

Then sprinkle some sesame seeds and chia seeds over them and bake for 40 minutes.

Bring them out of the oven and let it cool before you serve it.
